SELF GROWTH TIP: THE BACKWARD COUNTING METHOD

THE BACKWARD COUNTING

When you notice yourself getting stressed , overwhelmed and it starts having negative results on you , you can simply do this exercise to lessen the pain . In most cases, this feeling is animated when you have more thoughts at the same time in other words you overthink , it also happens when you can't decide which task to do , you're doubtful of the choices that are right in front your eyes. I guarantee you that I've been thinking a lot over time, I didn't truly know how to manage my days , I was fazed and lived days without achieving my daily goals. Recently, I've been doing much better, I re-planned how I should spend my days, enjoyed most of my days with friends ( get busy sometimes and meet your friends, laugh without envy , tease others normally ) or I read books that are paramount for my growth. Since then, I started feeling less fatigued and upset because each day I set myself a simple goal to achieve . I have developed a strong feeling in me, I'm a champion and my life has to be well lived because I'm the only who should make the first step.

Before we get into the method, I want you to answer these questions on a note. Grab a piece of paper or use note. It's going to be your reminder.

- Why are you reading this article?

- Have you been experiencing challenges over time and what have you decided to do ?

- Are you ready to commit yourself to change and start having productive thoughts ?

- How much effort are you willing to put into to live your well ?

- Do you realize human beings are made of imperfections and because of their imperfections they become someone greater , better, handsome if they manage to learn from their mistakes?

- Do you recognize that it's your own thoughts that affect most of your days ? Thoughts can related to so many issues such as angriness, jealousy, fatigue, financial issues… ? 

- Do you know that if you improve in one area of your life , you can apply the rule somewhere else , in other activities ?

- Are you ready to tackle the feeling of giving up and dare to move on?

After you've answered these questions, you'll feel relieved because the importance of you answering to these questions is to help you express your mind truly, acknowledge the mistakes you make, set time to improve because you know you deserve it. Moreover, you'll have a clear objective and know when your thoughts bother you ,what you should do without ruining your days . Don't allow a simple negative thought either produced by you or from an external factor to determine and command your day.

I call this method the BACKWARD COUNTING, whenever you start experiencing certain causes, be aware and stay alerted.

-Take 3 min of your time, 

-isolate yourself, 

-no device,just you . 

-Close your eyes, 

-Start counting backward from 30, 29, 28,27,26…

-Each number corresponds to one set of breath ( in and out )

-Do it till you reach zero.

-Redo it 2 times ( in total you do 3 turns )

- After you've done so, rest 1 min .

Then continue your activities. This exercice helps you pause your body for a while, relieve anxiety and stress, maintain a clear vision . Therefore it's quite important to relax, and create objectives that you should reach and don't let thoughts make you forget them. I personally do this exercice when I feel stressed, overwhelmed, doubtful and it has made most of my days clear and help me understand where I should invest my energy.
